![]() ![]() Grid (2019) is out now on PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Stadia. Still, a cool feature, which would be better off available in some form on other platforms- the original Race Driver Grid’s awesome campaign was great thanks to the season-ending Le Mans races, which is a multiclass endurance race. Race Drive: GRID includes several camera modes, including one from the inside of the car that shows up loads of details and even changes all the sounds of the game. Free DLC natively available on the OS X release, adding new cars and a new track, compatible with the Windows release. But is it a feature that will make you get Stadia whenever (and if) it is available in your market? Not really. Retail users have to patch GRID up to the latest version, before being able to load the DLC content. As a Microsoft Windows game it's a fun and simple arcade. The game includes crisp graphical representations of London and San Francisco both of which the player can explore at will using a variety of classic vehicles. Midtown Madness II is a free-roam racing game that offers single or multi-player modes. It’s a neat feature, and definitely made available thanks to Stadia instances have more power than the current consoles. Free Roam Racing with Midtown Madness II. And none of them really lean into the simulation realm in terms of driving physics, they all have a very much have a focus on more fun and accessible driving. This mode can be played online, where a qualifying session determines which car class you’re racing in, and also in Free Play mode where you can customise your own races and what car classes are competing. Personally I'd say Grid Autosport is actually pretty similar to Grid 2, and both Autosport & 2 are quite different from Race Driver: Grid in terms of the career format. It’s not easy passing through the backmarkers as they fight for their own class win. The cool bit about multiclass endurance races is just how huge the grid is, and how the top class cars have the added challenge of traffic. Races can last from five minutes (which is not that long) to an hour, with up to four different car classes can be racing on the track. This is quite a big upgrade, considering Grid (2019) only have 16-car grids by default. As players progress they gain sponsors and can hire a teammate to drive alongside them in certain events. But Codemasters at least is making use of the power of the cloud for a cool mode exclusive to Stadia.Įndurance races are 40-car multiclass races exclusive on Stadia. Grid was developed and published by Codemasters, the creators of the TOCA series. It is a game in which the player runs their own race team, acting as the primary driver. What a great experience I like I can play. There’s not much excitement regarding the launch of Stadia, Google’s new game streaming platform. Im an arcade racer nut So dipping into more of a racer sim is a new experience for me. ![]()
